this is so dumb. like sooo so dumb. like who cares. i'm aware. but like there was genuine potential to do something interesting here and it was just completely shirked in favor of the strangest nat geo special i have ever seen i was thinking about this especially after watching "black is king"; both it & the gift (both super underappreciated by the by, go listen/watch if u haven't recently they have no business being this good attached to something as silly as a live action disney remake) essentially being concept albums and films based on the original lion king. like, imagine that but in like a full proper film context like the whole reason why the musical version is still so loved all these years later is down to its creative interpretation. you're really telling me they couldn't just do that but in a new context, for a new generation? like can you IMAGINE the wardrobe? the choreography? letting chiwetel ejiofor actually do be prepared like a full musical number??? all of that, squandered!! like are we ALLERGIC to fun and creativity!?!??! (maybe i'm just a bit bitter we didn't get beyoncรฉ's rendition of shadowland liKE COME TF ON IT'S LITERALLY PERFECTLY IN HER RANGE)

Listen IDK which of you rec'd this, but what in the actual heck were you on recing this dumpster fire of a film. My god was this bad. Mr. Chalamet I no longer have faith in you as an actor. And nobody told me this was a MUSICAL! With insane AUTO TUNE! I highly do not recommend Wonka.

I just watched this in the cinema last night and was completely bowled over by the plethora of opportunities they had to make it a good movie, and every single time they just did the exact opposite. It's STAGGERINGLY boring. Don't get me started on the fuckass wig they put my girl Tilda Swinton in. Also it's a musical. And I love musicals. And I did not love this one. Also honourable mention to Emilia Pรฉrez which I think is the worst movie ever made maybe. But I think you can watch EP high with your friends and laugh.

i also have seen plenty of bad christmas rom-coms and b-horror films but at least i can enjoy them for how cheesy they are! Cats (2019) was horrifying. it wasnโ€™t so bad itโ€˜s good to me, it was just so bad. i also, accidentally, got extremely high before watching it and my friend and i watched it in complete darkness in his dorm (this was around when it came out) and it almost kind of scared me even though we both kept laughing because it was so bad and so absurd. also it was bootlegged so every 15 minutes a neon cartoon piรฑata advertising online gambling popped onto the screen for maybe thirty seconds. that aside, i literally didnโ€™t understand nor was i able to follow the storyline at all. the musical numbers didnโ€™t help. the cgi was freaky and they shouldโ€™ve done costumes instead. why was jason derulo catโ€™s number like that. what was up with the hot air balloons at the end?! it was a terrible experience. i am queer and love camp and can appreciate a (GOOD) musical and iโ€™ve no idea what the stage version of cats is like but this was just awful. i gave it a half star on letterboxd but wouldโ€™ve given it zero if i could

or junk journaling, if you'd like to not perpetuate myths about crows liking to collect trinkets. i just think it sounds cuter weirdly, as someone who's a writer, i've never really been good at or liked journaling. every planner i've ever owned has remained empty. if i try to write something any time other than when the fancy strikes me, it just feels inauthentic, like i'm trying too hard. this has been the first time journaling actually felt like it had a purpose for me, and actually felt weirdly therapeutic basically, it's just anything i can recycle, i make into a page. i like a common theme, so places i've visited, media i like, similar aesthetics, emotions i'm feeling. and then we get the qr code page & i'm reminded that this is probably the quintessential depiction of what scoring 121 on the RAADS-R looks like eh, i'm having fun๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

in agreement with mouse nitw soup rema see also agree with them that definitely limbo or inside will scratch the little nightmares itch, arguably playdead's games are a big inspiration for little nightmares. depending on what you're into (more story or more gameplay heavy) for story. i cannot recommend "what remains of edith finch" enough. just a true gem and some of the best of interactive storytelling for gameplay i love the witness, hi fi rush, and neon white. all very different, but maybe you'll find something you'll like for a mix if both, disco elysium. dialogue HEAVY, but based in like ttrpg systems, it's really fun. REALLY long though, like maybe put aside some time to crack that one open lol
