Listen IDK which of you rec'd this, but what in the actual heck were you on recing this dumpster fire of a film. My god was this bad. Mr. Chalamet I no longer have faith in you as an actor. And nobody told me this was a MUSICAL! With insane AUTO TUNE! I highly do not recommend Wonka.

i also have seen plenty of bad christmas rom-coms and b-horror films but at least i can enjoy them for how cheesy they are! Cats (2019) was horrifying. it wasn’t so bad it‘s good to me, it was just so bad. i also, accidentally, got extremely high before watching it and my friend and i watched it in complete darkness in his dorm (this was around when it came out) and it almost kind of scared me even though we both kept laughing because it was so bad and so absurd. also it was bootlegged so every 15 minutes a neon cartoon piñata advertising online gambling popped onto the screen for maybe thirty seconds. that aside, i literally didn’t understand nor was i able to follow the storyline at all. the musical numbers didn’t help. the cgi was freaky and they should’ve done costumes instead. why was jason derulo cat’s number like that. what was up with the hot air balloons at the end?! it was a terrible experience. i am queer and love camp and can appreciate a (GOOD) musical and i’ve no idea what the stage version of cats is like but this was just awful. i gave it a half star on letterboxd but would’ve given it zero if i could

I just watched this in the cinema last night and was completely bowled over by the plethora of opportunities they had to make it a good movie, and every single time they just did the exact opposite. It's STAGGERINGLY boring. Don't get me started on the fuckass wig they put my girl Tilda Swinton in. Also it's a musical. And I love musicals. And I did not love this one. Also honourable mention to Emilia PĂ©rez which I think is the worst movie ever made maybe. But I think you can watch EP high with your friends and laugh.

this is so dumb. like sooo so dumb. like who cares. i'm aware. but like there was genuine potential to do something interesting here and it was just completely shirked in favor of the strangest nat geo special i have ever seen i was thinking about this especially after watching "black is king"; both it & the gift (both super underappreciated by the by, go listen/watch if u haven't recently they have no business being this good attached to something as silly as a live action disney remake) essentially being concept albums and films based on the original lion king. like, imagine that but in like a full proper film context like the whole reason why the musical version is still so loved all these years later is down to its creative interpretation. you're really telling me they couldn't just do that but in a new context, for a new generation? like can you IMAGINE the wardrobe? the choreography? letting chiwetel ejiofor actually do be prepared like a full musical number??? all of that, squandered!! like are we ALLERGIC to fun and creativity!?!??! (maybe i'm just a bit bitter we didn't get beyoncé's rendition of shadowland liKE COME TF ON IT'S LITERALLY PERFECTLY IN HER RANGE)

Poet & songwriter best known as the frontman of “Silver Jews,“ and the lesser known “Purple Mountains,“ Berman has a way of exploring the beauty in the darker aspects of life. Berman tragically took his in 2019. He had such a special way with words both as a poet and a songwriter. My favorite song of his, “Famous Eyes” is linked above.

Founded in 1995, Broadcast was an English band that drew influences from 60s psychedelia, electronic, and experimental music. Following the death of their lead singer in 2011, Broadcast has found a new life and a cult following due to the mystery surrounding the band. I’ve linked my favorite album, Tender Buttons above.

Due to the involvement of the US Military Sponsoring SXSW, many bands and artists have opted to pull out of SXSW as protest for the ongoing genocide and Ethnic Cleansing in Palestine. I’m very proud of my friends from Perfectly Imperfect and Baby’s All Right for dropping out of SXSW, and for standing in solidarity with the people of Palestine. Free Palestine 🍉
