Okayyy hello another one of my fav songs!! I am trying to be more purposeful with my reviews from here on out.. I got recommended this song through le algorithm. In like 2022, I started listening to more shoegaze, dream pop, indie rock, idk what ever this genre is (genre is marketing tool anyways). So I'm glad this song made it into my feed. 2020-2023 worse yrs ever… I got to listen to music all day at my office job, so I found a lot of good music. I listen to sad music when I'm sad, and I was realyyy sad 🤣Crazy Town made me happy:) Definitely a feel good song for me, it never gets old! I fuck with Velocity Girl 💯💯I love that around this time in the 90s small bands were getting picked up by college radio stations (which ppl should listen to more often) Sub Pop was also in its prime, and Velocity Girl got picked up by them. The album that this song is on, Copacetic, is spectacular and was recorded in less than a week!!! P good for a debut alb 👍🏻In most songs it's the guitar that really gets me before the vocals or anything else. I like that the guitar sounds like “clean” shoegaze. Its sounds so epic to me the melody is also catchy and simple yet it gets the job done👍🏻Her vocals are so soft and sweet 🕊️its also easy for me to sing in the car (bad singer) Can’t help the urge to jump up and down and go crazyyyyyy while listening😝Brings me joy<3 Honestly thats all I got for this review it just sounds awesome nothing specific..🤪Album art also goes crazyyy fuzzy colors and genius text placement?... I like😎Also classic one girl in a band of boys

def a special case since this is the band I used to manage, but this album was part of a huge turning point in my life. the band is a few friends I went to college with and ended up moving in with my junior year. I knew them from their early days playing shows around NYC and slowly adding new songs to the set list, and by the time we lived together they had the whole album written. I was basically the Frankie Jonas to their Jonas Brothers until they decided they wanted to finally put their years of work out into the world and asked me to be their manager. working with them was my first experience in that kind of role and led to me pursuing it as a career, which I’m currently in grad school for.
genuinely love this album musically tho, it’s rough around the edges as it was produced before and during the pandemic and was a mishmash of studio recording and DIY stuff we threw together in our living room, but I think it adds to the charm. if you’re into indie rock with emo lyrics and noisy shoegazy type guitars def give it a listen. the songwriting is super personal to the vocalist and knowing her life outside of the album and what went into the songs makes it that much more meaningful. every time I listen to this album it takes me back to having just graduated, not knowing what I was doing with my life, but knowing that I got so much fulfillment out of putting music into the world and unknowingly stumbling into figuring out what I did want to do with my life. wouldn’t be where I am now had I not been a part of making this album happen

I just came across this album today and listened to it all the way through. I apparently had one song saved from it (I have a bad habit of saving songs I like that I come across but forgetting to listen to the whole album) and really liked the song yet again lol. However, the entire album start to finish really blew me away. The best way I can describe it is like punkish math folk. I think that if you like mannequin pussy you would like this album a lot. I just have to gush about it because I really really loved it. Also the band name is so clever lol

I was inspired by a Righteous Gemstones quote, and now instead of saying gossip and lies, I've been using sayings like telling fables, tall tales, making dubious claims etc .. Yesterday my friend dropped "Yo bro you're peddling falsehoods right now" and it fucking killed me I don't know why this is so funny to me I woke up laughing about it. Anyways
