I don't think that short story collections are appreciated enough, and beyond being fun to read, they are the best way to get out of a reading slump. My top three favs are Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado, Homesick for Another World by Ottessa Moshfegh and Nineteen Claws and a Blackbird by Agustina Bazterrica :) they have all left such an impact on me

when im in a reading slump i go for books that are a collection of short stories. the shorter length makes it easier to finish a story in one sitting so you can have that sense of accomplishment and also variety without a big commitment.
some of my faves are: prayer for the living - ben okri ‼️‼️ life ceremony - sayaka murata her body & other parties - carmen maria machado the dangers of smoking in bed - mariana enriquez

by Carmen Maria Machado is a collection of short stories that really got me back into a reading kick. My fav is the one set during a pandemic and a woman documenting a series of hookups and how each one differs from the other as a virus slowly consumes society. Would recommend

This song reminds me of when I was in Turkey, at my grandparents house over the summer. I would listen to this song on repeat at the beach, and at night while stargazing.
