read a short story collection

I don't think that short story collections are appreciated enough, and beyond being fun to read, they are the best way to get out of a reading slump. My top three favs are Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado, Homesick for Another World by Ottessa Moshfegh and Nineteen Claws and a Blackbird by Agustina Bazterrica :) they have all left such an impact on me

BOOKS WITH SHORT STORIES

when im in a reading slump i go for books that are a collection of short stories. the shorter length makes it easier to finish a story in one sitting so you can have that sense of accomplishment and also variety without a big commitment.
some of my faves are: prayer for the living - ben okri ‼️‼️ life ceremony - sayaka murata her body & other parties - carmen maria machado the dangers of smoking in bed - mariana enriquez

A collection of dark fiction indigenous short stories. My favourites in it are “Behind Colin’s Eyes“ by Shane Hawk, "Eulogy of a Brother, Resurrected" by Carson Faust, and "Collections" by Amber Blaeser-Wardzala

GETTING OFF MY PHONE AND GARDENING

the phone thing is kind of an annoying one but it is unfortunately true. gardening is nice cause it makes me feel like i am accountable to something that i need to care for. so like a sort of “take care of yourself so that you can provide for this small plant who is counting on you”

SICK DAY🌀🌀🌀🌀

it changes every day and today isn’t becessarily a good example cause i’m sick. but today i made pickle soup and watched do the right thing, then went for a walk and im tucked into bed at ten after doing my disgusting shot of nyquil!
