Something that I‘ve been doing as of late that has kept me grounded to the truest sense of the word. We as humans have our “things” - the items, objects, devices, whatever - that help us navigate our everyday routines. I like to give importance to these things, they’re tools that are propelling me forward each and every day. For me, it’s my carabiner of keys, my wired earphones, my black belt that keeps my pants up, my dented water bottle that provides me with the upmost hydration. It’s kind of going to back to the it’s-the-little-things-mentality. Try it out, see what power comes from your tools.

I think we’ve all had objects that always stayed on sight in their place when they were unnecessary but then you weren’t able to find them anymore when you finally needed them. I guess we just have to learn to appreciate things more.

These are ROA Andreas boots and I bought them three years ago for $450. I use them to clean my yard and to get through mud and dirt and occasionally when I hike. They’re good boots and they hold up well. I’m so anti “I’m going to treasure my quality goods,” like absolutely not. I don’t spend $450 to let them sit in a glass case. I spend $450 because I want to be able to put them on and not worry about whether they’re going to fall apart, if they’ll grip through mud, or if they’ll keep me dry. If they’re built as well as they claim to be, they’re going to be worn and put through every single task I can think of. Quality goods aren't for flexing, they’re for peace of mind knowing that you’ll get years of abuse out of the item. This isn’t a “ooooh look at how much $$$ I spent post!” — this is a “why did YOU spend all that money just to barely wear something???” — it’s so counter to being sustainable and content with less things that are better. On the other end, my wife finally get her coach empire purse she’s been longing after since seeing it on the runway. We went out with friends recently and they saw her grab baby wipes and pull ups out of it to change our toddler and one of the girls asked “you put baby stuff in your nice bag?” — …if we’re spending money on a bag, you best believe it’ll hold anything and everything we shove into it. A laptop, markers and coloring books, makeup, diapers, wallets and keys, and stray animal crackers. USE YOUR STUFF. CELEBRATE THE THINGS YOU OWN BY USING THEM OFTEN & WELL. GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO BECOME A LEGACY ITEM — “THAT’S MOM’S BAG THAT SHE’S HAD FOR 30 YEARS.” THINK ABOUT HOW COOL YOUR KIDS CAN BE IF YOU PASS THINGS ON TO THEM!

imo understanding why/how I kept collecting random stuff helped me focus only on what I had; if I wanted to buy smthn but it had NO PRACTICAL USE or smthn I owned ALREADY FULFILLED THE PURPOSE it‘s not getting bought 🤷‍♀️

I do this every single day without fail. I think there’s something so romantic about breakfast, sensual. Even more so if you enjoy the delicacy by yourself. Setting the intention for the day with the bright sweetness of fruit, the leafy comforting taste of greens, protein etc. I’ve been trying to find liquid alternatives for my caffeine addiction - grapefruit juice has oddly been a game changer. The citrus. The slight bitter undertones. All made and sourced with love. My favorite part of the day.

One of my favorite little things that I like to do for myself every so often is to go down a "Spotify rabbit hole." Discover weekly, random old playlists made by high school me, peeking at friends' listening activity, all of it. I find the coolest music ever and it makes me really excited. When I first heard the song What's it like in the sunshine... I knew this was for me. The whole album makes me feel really vibrant and alive. Sounds like summer. So it's perfect.
