Beware of bringing your dreams to life in a small notebook. Limited space, and starting the day with a shaky hand in a flimsy lil ting, can rly limit ideas and work flow. I know they're charming, 800x easier to carry around, more ecological. And they have their purpose, on a Saturday maybe. Otherwise, it's me and my phat heavy-duty hardcover

the crucial thing here is it has to be a really pleasant little notebook. you have to enjoy the experience of scribbling in it. i have three for different idea styles and they each provide a writing situation i get actively excited to experience. like ooh i hope i get to use my dream journal this morning… ooh hope i have a cool idea about art on the bus… etc etc

i always buy a small notebook. Bring everywhere. Write anything in it. Shopping list, poem, drawing, crazy idea, list of things that annoyed me, etc.

It’s great to be able to do little drawings or right down ideas that come to you while your outside. Writing notes on your phone feels a little stale sometimes. Plus it makes for a very nice object to carry with you.
