bringing something up out of nowhere that you would like to talk about when there is no real transition is weird and a bit awkward. you know what’s more awkward? Talking about nothing! if there is a lull in the convo and everyones thoughts have run dry, just ask people‘s thoughts on a random thing you like. the only time this hasn’t worked for me is when the people I’m talking to are looking for a way out of the conversation and I’m just completely unaware lmao

Sometimes the best thing to do is just embrace the awkwardness. sometimes a Conversation gets awkward and the more you try to avoid that, the more the conversation becomes artificial and dis genuine. its normal to have awkward moments, and the best way to embrace it is to acknowledge it. if an awkward silence occurs maybe say “that got awkwardly quiet“ sometimes when things get awkward it’s a sign to switch subjects. i find myself being increasingly awkward and overthinking every single conversation these days. i guess my “go to move” would be just saying the first thing that comes to my mind. talking about a meme or a funny encounter i’ve had recently and pray the conversation keeps going from there!
