I hate small talk and awkward silences so I try to make jokes or bring up another topic 9/10 I end up digging myself into a hole because I start yapping about something unrelated or inappropriate for where I am. So Iād avoid doing that, that doesnāt help.

bringing something up out of nowhere that you would like to talk about when there is no real transition is weird and a bit awkward. you know whatās more awkward? Talking about nothing! if there is a lull in the convo and everyones thoughts have run dry, just ask peopleās thoughts on a random thing you like. the only time this hasnāt worked for me is when the people Iām talking to are looking for a way out of the conversation and Iām just completely unaware lmao

That mostly helps save the convo like a fun q&a or a cute compliment, idk, whatever the context is, I always manage to pull something out of my ass nā say something nice when things are awkward.

My school did a workshop about it when I was like 10 and I think the amount of care and dedication it takes to hand crafting each and every frame is so cool. When its done well you get a really stylised films, Iām thinking like Chicken Run, Wallace and Gromit, Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, ParaNorman and The Box Trolls all of which I loved as a kid and every time I rewatch them I get the same sense of childlike wonder I did when I watched them the first time. I know thereās a lot of crossover with CGI now when making them but just the concept of stop motion animation is really cool.
