I actually had the idea last night for a regular gathering with friends: Reading Articles Together — you go to the pub or a coffee shop or a home, everyone brings a couple printed off articles, and then you take some time to just pass them around to read, intentionally, and then be open to whatever conversation spills out from that If you don't have a printer then a read-it-later service like Pocket or something could be handy for later-saving

@CUPIEMAYO It's become a delightful part of my life. My parents recently visited and I had all these printed off articles and there was a moment when several of us where sitting around sipping coffee, reading articles, and musing together.

last night I was at my studio waiting for something to cure and I decided to go to the bar around the corner alone. I brought a PDF i printed out and read it over 2 beers. Feeling like an obnoxious social deviant was fun and it felt like I was able to focus better when there was so much happening around me.

It’s knowing that its waiting for you downstairs. The crunch of turning the page. Finding your own best practices for folding it. Reading it in short moments through the day. Saving a piece for your bud. Keeping the stacks so your parents can use it as kindling. And then knowing you get to do it all over again.

Click one, read one. Read parts of it and come back later. Even if it takes you the whole day, sometimes the whole week. Then read another.

this is worthy of celebration: the lack of video—autoplay video, noisy inane video, panicky video, algorithmic, dumb video, rabbit hole video, any video—on pi.fyi is a good thing
