I came up on a free board? Set? at a yard sale this weekend. I have been having such a blast playing this. I also love chinese checkers. What should I learn next? old School games please. If you haven’t played Chinese checkers or backgammon hunt them down next time you are at a thrift store.

Was it difficult to learn?

@GORLAMI99 both my mother and I were stuck on a separate part when learning, but not really. I was confused with what happens when someone essentially kicks you and you have to roll to get back in the game, but I was overthinking it. It has now become one of favorite games to play. You essentially roll two dice and move two times, one for each roll. The goal is just to get all your pieces to the other side. Pretty fun.

Unlike chess, which can leave you at the mercy of a 45 minute defeat with only your insufficient brain power to blame, backgammon has a nice and light pace to it.  Rolling dice feels good and you can put the blame on them in hindsight.
I think board games like that are a great way to sit and spend time with people and be in each other's presence.

instead of doomscrolling, me and my friends strategize on how to win.
it’s also crazy how every region has their own version - hongkong, singapore, taiwan, and the filchi community in philippines have their own types of pointing system. each region in china even has their own version ! 🤯

I haven’t found something that this doesn’t elevate. I especially love the little crunchy soybeans. I am huge fan of more textures in my food. What are your favorite condiments? Let me see those sauces babygirl

Also known to use folded post notes and receipts. In cooking magazines and books I’ll use scraps of paper I rip to mark what I’m interested in.
