I saw a tweet of mine from 5 years ago and after shuttering after realizing I had tweets from 5 years ago I took a moment to look at how different of a person I was, the person I was probably wouldn't be able to recognize who I am today and honestly I couldn't be happier I was in a bad place at the time even though part of me still has nostalgia for that era of my life

I love taking a little walk down memory lane by going on the dreaded Facebook app and straight to the memories section where I then look through all the ridiculous statuses I posted on that day many years ago. It’s refreshing to see how little you’ve changed and how much you’ve changed

i’m a very nostalgic and sentimental person. i feel that i’ve lived a majority of my life in my head, and i find that i enjoy the past more than i ever enjoy the present. i don’t think nostalgia is a bad thing, but i can definitely fall into feeling sad because i’m yearning for different eras of my life (here’s the kicker- even if i know i was actually miserable during that time, but now that i’m slightly more removed, i’ve romanticized the experience) well the other day my mom and i talked about the idea of being nostalgic for the moment you’re currently in. notice all of the little details that are creating the experience you’re having, and be grateful that you live a life that’s worth remembering and looking back on. file that moment away, so then, weeks/months/years from now when you’re looking back on this moment, you’ll know that you experienced it fully.

complimenting strangers is such a fulfilling experience thats adds some positivity to both you and a strangers day, i think a lot of people are afraid of the other person thinking that they're weird or smth but how many times have you received a passing compliment and thought it was weird prolly not very often not to mention you'll prolly never see them again and you only live once
