this movie was interesting, but overall sucked. almost no plots reach any conclusion, there's really uncomfortable "romance" between the child main character and a disabled adult, and it's way too long for what happens.
Wtf was that half baked movie!!! Why was there a blank screen between every shot!?! Whoever the editor was, u r fired. Goodbye!!! The best part was the less than one min of julia fox; the rest was just awkward dialogue and a bunch of disjointed uncomf scenes that made no sense. Reveals were made too early; the twist was easy to suspect; it felt that it was made purely to be shown on a cinematographer’s portfolio reel bc the first person shooting was the coolest part about it.
this might lose me some cool points but this movie genuinely pissed me off so much. i have never been so bored by a movie to the point that i began falling asleep until this movie.
i truly think this would've been fantastic as a 20ish minute long short film, but unfortunately it is just 100 minutes of you siting in silence and staring at a dimly lit corner with a noticeably looped grain filter plastered over it. the 5 minutes total in which something actually does happen are cool, but it still is the only film to receive a 0.5/5 stars on my letterboxed so far.
I'm calling this a bad good movie. The craft is stellar with amazing performances. But the pace was exhausting and by the end I was left thinking "what was the point of it all?" Intricate but depthless.
this book was haunting and thrilling, and like many Bari Wood books, very hard to put down. I found myself physically cringing and covering my mouth out of terror several times.
