everyone talkin about “analog warmth“ these days. no no no. give me that icy glassy bright soul music. i’m talkin about the soul inbetween soul and neo soul. early 80s synthesizer soul. and i’m not talkin about pop music
It's got this angsty sound about it, the way the synthesizers are anxiously played. Theres some real deep bedroom production style groovers, weird stuff you didn't hear in USA at that time.
Start with Igor Savin's "Folk Sinteza"
when i first heard this a few years back, i thought it was a new release. its from 1991 - these lot are so ahead of their time… i think you’ll love it, its got that good groove.
go “ugh i’m confused” and relax about trying to get out of it so fast. just be it, let it force you to listen more, be more observant, see yourself as the liquidy ever-shifting thing you actually are! try to be honest
