New album from Jane Remover (under the name venturing) !!!!! my favorite songs are Play my guitar and Something has to change but I’ve only listened through twice. Actually, Dream Sequence is my favorite (one of her best songs ever imo) but it was released a while ago so I’m kinda disregarding it at the moment.

if u know absolutely anything about me, it’s that i’ve been insane abt jane remover/leroy/venturing/etc since 2022ish…and have since listened to this album about 50 times since its release on april 4. although i enjoy frailty at times and appreciate what they were going for on census designated, i feel like this sound (which is not at all new for their work, just new for the jane remover alias) is a lot more authentic than the timidness presented on frailty and the repeated shoegaze drops on census. it’s hard to return to those albums now that they’ve basically released what i think is their best work to date. clears 2hollis’ star by a mile tbh…altho i’m coming around to it…

just discovered Jane removers side project venturing. idk if there could’ve been a better time to discover this album, right in the middle of a thunderstorm. this album currently has me so happy despite how grim it is. when I say grim it is fucking grim and gloomy but holy shit it’s so good. i havent been this excited for an album in a long time except for Alex gs upcoming album. the song something has to change had me tearing up. if you haven’t, go check it out asap.

calling all Kate Bush fans it’s time to hop aboard the Jane Train!!! layered revelatory transportive… can’t recommend it enough The Bird in the Gravel is one of my all time favorite songs. I’d listen to it every morning on my commute to nanny a homicidal six year old on the upper west side and float above myself on the subway for a glorious 10 minutes and 32 seconds. feels like you just woke up from a dream when it’s over.. the kind of dream you hope you’ll return to the next night

I have a very strong desire for control over every aspect of my life and I’ve never been able to roll with things. Lately I’m trying to let go of this so I can participate in my ‘friendships’, which I have really been neglecting in recent years. Today a friend texted and asked me to go to the farmers market with her. At first I felt scared (lol) and inclined to ignore the message but I decided instead I would agree to go, and within 5 minutes I was in her car with her. It was a total blur and I was anxious out of my mind but I felt very grateful to spend time with someone I love. I’m terrible at conversing but even just to stand beside her was nice. We hugged before parting ways. I am glad that I did this.

If it irritates you to see people being negative, you know thats not something you yourself want to be. Dwell on why negativity bothers you. I‘d guess it has something to do with an innate knowledge that we all deserve kindness. Typically super negative people feel horribly about themselves, they have no other reason to say the things they do. It’s the type of person that tends to annoy me as well but when I think about that it makes me really sad for them, and then it feels easier to be compassionate. Anger releases dopamine. If you’re sad all the time, it feels better to get angry for a while. They’re struggling and desperately trying to make themselves feel better. We all need each others love.

The other album I’ve been super into the past few days :-D so gorgeous. I’d never heard of this band before and I still haven’t heard their other albums but I feel inclined to listen. They have a really nice sound and the vocalists are both (I think it’s just two?) wonderfully talented. Some of the songs make me want to cry some of them make me want to dance
