I’m from the UK and it seems absurd that FM bandwidth is given over to something so slow and thoughtful. (Obviously online we have NTS and I treasure it.)

found this site that streams obscure global music and ephemera 24/7 and has incredible soundcloud mixes too. obsessed. I’m starting with their Albanian synth playlist and working my way backwards

it's free and 100% human, I recommend NTS Radio, which is web-based and has a huge archive of recorded shows in many genres and topics. Bandcamp and Soundcloud also have playlists that feel more carefully curated than Spotify's I think. oh and college radios are a great place for discovering new music too. There's a site called campus-fm.com that let's you tune into different ones across the US :)

I love David Sylvian's earlier work, but always deferred listening to this one due to its tortured reputation. My mistake; it's gorgeous, full of lovely late night torch songs, jazzy trip hop and widescreen string and horn arrangements from the GOAT Ryuichi Sakamoto. Looking forward to leaning further into his 00s work next.
