I watched Lisa Frankenstein yesterday (really good), and it's been a while since I saw animated opening credits. I wish people would bring them back because they're very referential to the movies and sometimes there're things that one might miss throughout the film, that appear in the credits.
This credits in particular were really evocative of the gothic aspect to Mary Shelley's work for me, which I loved.

A nostalgic, synthy modern fairy tale shot on 16 mm. Itโ€™s about three kids on a journey to get their mom a blueberry pie. Visually pleasing and so so comforting to watch.
I have not enjoyed a movie this much in so long! (Stream it on mubi)

My school did a workshop about it when I was like 10 and I think the amount of care and dedication it takes to hand crafting each and every frame is so cool. When its done well you get a really stylised films, Iโ€™m thinking like Chicken Run, Wallace and Gromit, Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, ParaNorman and The Box Trolls all of which I loved as a kid and every time I rewatch them I get the same sense of childlike wonder I did when I watched them the first time. I know thereโ€™s a lot of crossover with CGI now when making them but just the concept of stop motion animation is really cool.
