i grew up as the youngest person in my family so i really didn’t feel the joy of responsibility and/or helping someone through something i’d experienced until i started having friends 1-2 years younger than me god i’m so good at giving advice

I convinced my fav professor from undergrad to be my mentor despite many objections from her about “I don’t mentor students blah blah blah” and now 5ish years later it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. Now I just get to hang out with someone I adore and admire on the regular and it just makes my heart soar every time we catch up. What a treat!
