claudianextdoor im sorry for the insane amount of notifications youre all getting… it’s posting before i have my answers ready but yes of course!!! depending on your hair type there’s a few ways- leave in conditioners/styling product are non negotiable, leave in conditioner esp bc its gonna help retain moisture so you dont get frizz!! styling wise: if you’re doing blow out curls, use velcro rollers (the bigger ones give you bigger bouncy curls asap BUT using smaller rollers will let the curls fall into place naturally, the smaller curls are gonna be annoying at first but using the smaller rollers will help it rlly set in that shape & you can loosen them yourself with a comb/finger styling!! its so much harder to get curls back without heat if you use too big of a roller/roll too much hair, they might fall flat with a slight curl) if youre using a curling iron: make sure it’s the right heat for your hair & the right size (I would probably downsize by half an inch or a full inch if its a thicker barrel) hot rollers: keep them in until they’re cool!! the biggest and best tip I have is pinning in general, it’s so annoying but my hair looks so much better when it’s been setting for 2-4 hours as i lounge and get ready compared to just doing it- think about the older ladies and how long their style stayed!!!) if you need personal reccs like products plsss feel free to dm, I absolutely love nerding out abt this stuff and love to help 👁️🙂‍↕️ we can always chat more

persephones My hair is naturally curly but I like the way it looks when I straighten it and curl it using velcro and sponge rollers, i still have to try curling my hair with a wand and pinning the curls while their still hot though, so hopefully that helps keep their shape. The only thing that I don't like about velcro rollers is the fact that I can't sleep on them like I can with the sponge rollers (I still have to try the hot rollers though.) What specific products do you use to style your hair, especially for curls?

claudianextdoor omg wait, Love the foam rollers for setting, try an oversized satin scrunchie or sock donut and watch Yesenia Hipolitos overnight curls method- truly life changing for sleep. My curls stay so much longer and I’m able to keep my blowouts 3-5 days. product wise (it’s a whole routine for me, when I do mine it’s my hair for the next few days) shampoo your scalp well, deep condition- jojoba oil in the ends (start small) Kenra products @ ulta have been my go to, it’s expensive but i stretch my styles out for a week & then turn it into a slick back pony lolllll faves are kenra blow out spray (only use w round brush & blow dryer) Kenra thermal styling spray (but my last few experiences have been unsavory…)

claudianextdoor I’m so sorry I’m a yapper- i blowout my hair mostly and curl it that way so my true love is the kenra platinum blow out spray W a one inch boar bristle round brush and a blow dryer w pointed tip, for flat iron applications- sunbum heat protector, kenra thermal protector (again recently it’s been annoying me but I fear I use too much) pin your hair as you curl, sleep in an oversized scrunchie or two w yesenias method :) I hope the next time you curl it goes incredible 🧿🙂‍↕️

Wear clothes that fit and drape well on your shape. Replace sloppy looking or worn out staple pieces with things that look a little more intentional and serious but are still comfortable and feel true to you (ex: instead of sweatpants wear pull-on cigarette pants). Wear fewer accessories and let the simplicity shine through. A nice signature scent might help.
Keep your skin clean, moisturized, and exfoliated (try peel pads like the ones from First Aid Beauty or Nip/Fab). Wear sunscreen or whatever 🙄 If you wear makeup, do a tinted moisturizer, use an angled brush to fill in your brows with cool-toned shadow for some light definition, curl your lashes, wear mascara, wear a flattering shade of red lipstick and pat that lipstick onto your cheeks as blush—maybe do a shimmery pale or a smoky brown shadow tapped onto the lid with your fingertips (cream shadow is great for this) + some pencil eyeliner at the roots of the lashes and on your upper waterline.
Keep your hair looking as clean as you possibly can. If you’re using dry shampoo, do it preemptively before you go to sleep to absorb oil rather than in the morning when you wake up—spray it all along your roots and massage it into the hair in the morning. I actually do not brush my hair because it stretches it out and makes it lose its shape; I put it up in a bonnet when I go to sleep to keep it from getting tangled but still looking tousled, textured, and voluminous at the roots. I do comb through it with my fingers and I use a wet brush before I shower, as I rinse, and when I condition. My wash routine lately has been Trader Joe’s cleansing conditioner then Giovanni 2chic ultra moist shampoo!
Learn to style your hair with a round brush (I know this is a really tough one but it makes a big difference)!!!! I really enjoy the hot styling brush tools but they’re apparently damaging to the hair because they have no heat settings and they put a lot of tension and friction on the hair. If you have a few hundred to drop though I’ve heard great things about the Shark FlexFusion and FlexStyle. But whatever you do… use a heat protectant.
I style my hair if I have somewhere important to go but otherwise I do air dry— I put it up in a cotton T-shirt to soak up most of the water—and I use an air drying crème while it’s still damp. I think having a good hairstylist is also really important and will take you a long way. My relationship with mine is probably one of the most precious things in my life and I’ve been going to him for about three years now.
I’m honestly never going to look put together like other people seem to naturally be able to do and I’m always going to remain feral on some level but this is what works for me! My version of doing the bare minimum 🫶
