its literally my closet, i bought it bc i like it and want to wear it- why would i not rewear the outfit if it was a hit? forever thinking of that lizzie mcguire "well you're an outfit remember-er" quote

Agreed with paigey_d for sure. People don't notice. I wore the same pair of black stretchy Levi's for sixty straight days earlier this year (with plenty of washings) and no one picked up on it. I've now got a uniform of dark gray American Apparel triblend t-shirts (2 for $20) that I wear most days of the week.

People also do not notice. I just wore an outfit to a wedding that I wore to my shul’s gala last year, many same people in attendance. Everyone, including those that had seen it the year prior, complemented my outfit. I had a new short haircut which gave it a different look but still no one noticed I had worn it to an event the year prior even when I told them! I also wore it to a NYE party a few years ago as well as many random dinners throughout it the time I’ve owned it.

paigey_d They don’t at all!! Especially when time passes or you restyle it- also obsessed with you reusing a dress for multiple occasions, the “buy an outfit for every event” mindset is ATROCIOUSSSS, sometimes all you need is a good piece and accessories to carry you for years

i was never anti outfit repeating necessarily, but i would think about how recently i wore an article/ensemble or where i wore it, who saw it etc. lately i’ve been rewearing outfits that make me look and feel good without thinking too hard about it and like… i look and feel good

the fact that many of us (me included) have closets so expansive that we could avoid repeats for several weeks is actually quite troubling and shows how capitalism habituates us into defining ourselves as consumers. and it’s not just practical and sustainable to repeat your outfits, it’s also how you season the clothes, elevating the outfit’s contents to something more than possessions or garments. anyway, here's what i've been wearing over and over again

having a uniform, etc. i feel like i talk abt this a lot but today i was feeling kind of Strange about it because since i work w/ clothes and am interested in fashion i often feel like i need to have something new for everything or be more maximalist or eye catching. but at the end of the day i already have what i need and i enjoy what i enjoy. everything i wear has some intention behind it even if it looks like it doesn't. so then what
