start small! next time a friend asks how are you? don't reflexively say good and keep it pushing. try to share just a little more about how you're feeling. it doesn't need to be deep or dramatic but as you normalize that type of sharing you'll kind of be forced to check in with yourself and ideally start to feel more comfortable acknowledging your emotions.

I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to say, “Good and you?” when someone asks, “How are you doing?” Not me. I love taking this opportunity to honestly unload exactly where I’m at on the ever swinging pendulum that is my constantly shifting emotional/psychological/spiritual state. Try being completely transparent next time someone cracks open this door to a potentially true human connection.

some people get annoyed when you ask if they're okay too much so don't do it all rhe time obviously but its nicw to remind your friends you DO care and want to help them even if they're not going to reachout for your support
