There’s a creator on Instagram and tiktok called Lauren_dozier and she makes the most lovely flower shaped cookies
I made them recently and they turned out quite well- I used a ‘no spread’ sugar cookie recipe and gel food colouring 💓
Historically I don’t bake, mostly because I lived with a friend for like 5 years and she is a baker. But now I don’t, it’s the holidays. Honestly it was so fun to dedicate a whole weekend to making cookies! I made lemon glazed sugar, chewy gingerbread and “world peace” chocolate cookies (which are the perfect treat) :)
Recipes:
Classic Sugar Cookies - Alison Roman (glaze is just lemon juice, zest, powdered sugar, and then I rolled in sprinkle sugar)
Chewy Gingerbread Cookies - Sohla El-Waylly
World Peace Cookies - Dorie Greenspan
The base cookie, graybeh, can be flavored in a lot of ways, so if orange and lavender isn’t what you‘re looking for you could do anise, vanilla, or ginger, but the cookies as is are excellent— they’re light, crumbly and the texture is perfect.
ive noticed quite the big earl grey fandom on this app. my friend made these and they were genuinely so good
- earl grey sugar cookies
- vanilla ice cream
i heated up the cookie so it was a little warm… bro i can’t even describe it
10/10
We are so lucky to have such a wealth of music at our fingertips. The trial and error of working out what you like is so satisfying- once you find a song you like, you’ll find an album of theirs you love, a duet they’ve done with another artist who is now your new favourite, and so on. Let your music taste snowball!
old soul is my favourite, here are some recs:
Let’s Say Goodbye Tomorrow - Jimmy Ruffin
It’s All Right - Sam Cooke
Misty Blue - Dorothy Moore
Security - Otis Redding
Dearest Darling - Etta James
There is so much to explore!
I tried so many different branded hair masks and nothing has worked as well for me as just pure coconut oil. I buy a big tub of cold pressed 100% pure coconut oil and apply a generous amount all over my scalp (about 2 tbsp), leave it for as long as possible (if i have no where to go I put a little cap on and leave it all day), then work shampoo into my hair dry (oil doesn’t mix well with water) then wash out and condition. it leaves my hair feeling so nourished and clean!
Paper-based activities bring me back to my childhood, if I’m feeling extra-nostalgic I’ll sit on the floor and craft with all my journaling supplies spread about me.
It satiates something in me, to use my hands to create; my life ask less and less for dexterity, and requires less and less sitting on the floor all afternoon- it is meditative <3
