We are so lucky to have such a wealth of music at our fingertips. The trial and error of working out what you like is so satisfying- once you find a song you like, you’ll find an album of theirs you love, a duet they’ve done with another artist who is now your new favourite, and so on. Let your music taste snowball!
old soul is my favourite, here are some recs:
Let’s Say Goodbye Tomorrow - Jimmy Ruffin It’s All Right - Sam Cooke Misty Blue - Dorothy Moore Security - Otis Redding Dearest Darling - Etta James
There is so much to explore!

So right! I’ve been on a similar train, listening to the likes of Nat King Cole and Billie Holiday. What a luxury to have these songs which people used to dress up and go to a nice dinner for right at home, transforming home itself into a nice dinner place.

leora My finds in this vein are p pedestrian cause they’re from the Spotify playlist for classic jazz, but it’s the hits I was looking for anyway : ) My picks from that: I know that you know - Nat King Cole Solitude - Billie Holiday The touch of your lips - Chet Baker I didn’t know what time it was - any cover, but fave is Cécile McLorin Salvant’s If any of these remind you of a track back, do tell 🩷

There’s a creator on Instagram and tiktok called Lauren_dozier and she makes the most lovely flower shaped cookies
I made them recently and they turned out quite well- I used a ‘no spread’ sugar cookie recipe and gel food colouring 💓

I tried so many different branded hair masks and nothing has worked as well for me as just pure coconut oil. I buy a big tub of cold pressed 100% pure coconut oil and apply a generous amount all over my scalp (about 2 tbsp), leave it for as long as possible (if i have no where to go I put a little cap on and leave it all day), then work shampoo into my hair dry (oil doesn’t mix well with water) then wash out and condition. it leaves my hair feeling so nourished and clean!

Paper-based activities bring me back to my childhood, if I’m feeling extra-nostalgic I’ll sit on the floor and craft with all my journaling supplies spread about me. It satiates something in me, to use my hands to create; my life ask less and less for dexterity, and requires less and less sitting on the floor all afternoon- it is meditative <3
