I find their grandeur amazing and very refreshing. Also musically I think that they have created something new which is very rare these days. Then add in Abigail Morrisās voice and itās an uncontrollable burst of enthusiasm. From what I read they are blowing up the pop charts across the pond. I am not a fan of pop music, and I basically refer to it as pop trash. But not this pop band. Give this album a listen !!!

I stumbled upon Idles a few years ago and initially couldnāt stand them. Their sound is very specific. Theyāre rowdy. Theyāre all over the place. Theyāre a wonderful anomaly in the music realm.
I liked this snippet from The Rolling Stonesā review of their album, āDescribing the warm, fuzzy optimism of anĀ Idles record requires only the most pretentious adjectives āĀ ebullience, exultation, jubilationĀ ā words that Idles frontman Joe Talbot would likely laugh at heartily before offering a pint to anyone who said them.ā
Itās an album you can dance to, fight to, protest against police brutality to, celebrate the end of the British monarchy to ā itās resistance music if resistance music was played by good looking tattooed guys who occassionally wear dresses. I enjoy the songs Dancer (done with LCD Soundsystem) and Grace the most, but Gift Horse makes me want to riot in the streets and Pop Pop Pop needs a dance remix asap.

Spectacular. Saw them in London at a packed and singing O2.
Iāve always loved them but for whatever reason Jarvisā Bowieisms hadnāt fully revealed themselves to me before this evening. What a fine, incredible band they are. Generational talents, as they say. Do yourself a favor and listen to the new album (among their best) and catch them live. Jarvis is on fire. š„ And as of last night they have the new number one album in the UK!

one of my favorite, most slept-on bands ever. cheesy 80s pop that has no right to be as lyrically impressive and self-aware as it is. also they did a mostly instrumental record in 2003 called I Trawl the Megahertz thatās all string arrangements with radio interview samples blended in if thatās more your thing. awesome range, Cars and Girls was my most listened to song of 2024. also the singer dresses like that now so u know heās the real deal
