one of my favorite, most slept-on bands ever. cheesy 80s pop that has no right to be as lyrically impressive and self-aware as it is. also they did a mostly instrumental record in 2003 called I Trawl the Megahertz that’s all string arrangements with radio interview samples blended in if that’s more your thing. awesome range, Cars and Girls was my most listened to song of 2024. also the singer dresses like that now so u know he’s the real deal

Started listening to Prefab Sprout in college after a buddy of mine recommended them to me and they instantly became my favorite band. Literally every song they’ve put out is perfect. It’s honestly annoying how much I like them. I’ve 100% gotten drunk before and ranted about how great of a songwriter Paddy McAloon is to my friends and people I barely know. I swear to god, he played every single chord in existence in the beginning of I Never Play Basketball Now. I tried learning how to play it through some youtube tutorial made by a middle aged british dude playing it in his backyard and immediately said “fuck that its too hard” and put the guitar down. It’s also so sick that Paddy McAloon dresses up like some kind ofPimp Santa now. I love them so much.

my friend put me onto picker wheel dot com and it has freed me of so much mental anguish. similar in concept to the magic 8 ball except what i like about picker wheel dot com is that it is completely devoid of all the aesthetic mystery of the 8 ball and the wheel just can’t be beat. i also love every time you open the website there are at least 3 ads playing simultaneously
