formed a solid friendship with the squirrel in the backyard- I give him a walnut or two and he sits on a table or the window and enjoys it while I sip on coffee, he always makes sure I see him too, he’s kind of the best
he’s up to something, can he see me watching him through my third floor window while he sits on the lamppost? are we having a moment? does he know i’ve seen him eat a chicken nugget from the neighbor’s balcony?
i highly recommend keeping tabs on your local birds (and depending on your squirrels, squirrels)! i have been trying for weeks to get some of my cardinal neighbors to notice the bird feeder i have set up for them.. it’s fun but somewhat brutal to watch them ignore it but i can tell that any day now they will trust and enjoy my gift
give em a nod and greet them with a "Corvid" like thats their name and we're old pals, occasionally apologise for not having a snack for them and dig around in my pocket for any possible shinnies to gift em
will also sit at my window with my cat trash talking shit to the crows nest on the tree outside cause birds are cool but i gotta have my babes back😗
