So cooling, so grassy, so awake, but not jittery. Is it the switch from a second coffee to matcha, these new vitamins, or the the impending spring that has me feeling slightly more alert? Who knows. I’ll credit the matcha and continue to enjoy my little treat.

This coffee shop that I have slight sexual tension with makes this peppermint matcha drink. I get it everyday, minty grass milk water, so so yum

i am into matcha over coffee because i prefer the taste actually!!! maybe it’s an acquired one but i adore it now… as well i cannot handle the amount of caffeine in one iced latte so having a matcha latte gives me my fix without making me jittery and irate :p

They say the l-theanine content in the matcha helps to reduce the cortisol spike from the caffeine and that it has a calming effect on the brain. There’s nothing like a good cup of coffee don’t get me wrong, and like David Lynch said “even a bad cup of coffee is better than no coffee at all” but matcha in the morning gives me the same caffeine hit without that jittery buzz. I think it’s something about the beans that hits differently. I’ll typically take an l-theanine supplement along side my coffee if I choose to have it, but I find Matcha a lot smoother and green tea naturally contains this wonderful amino acid - so naturally, it’s my first choice whenever possible.

my hyper fixation meal, my last meal. Comforting, yet novel bc of the rotating veg. Rich on rich - that, plus the acid of the prik for brightness.

Grilled, cold smoked, pickled, hot smoked, canned, in sushi, on rye, in rice bowls, on salad - I love mackerel in all its forms. It’s large enough to satisfy like tuna or swordfish, yet small enough to have less mercury. My usually low-key neurons feel like they’re positively dancing when the omega 3s hit. PS The Fishwife canned smoked mackerel in chili oil is a real treat

Like anything else that lots of people are telling me to do, I resisted meditation for ages (that’s my contrarian complex). The continuous search for purpose finally broke me down and I tried meditation, starting with short, guided practices on insight timer. This app has everything! Meditations, courses, music, trackers, and the eponymous timer. I am consistently impressed with the functionality of the app and the quality content that teachers generously share. If you’re using the free version and a particular piece of content really resonates, you can easily send money to the creator. Plus, once you get into it, meditation is like free entertainment, advice, and connection, all in one.
