Every summer there are (REALLY GOOD) free concerts in both Central Park and Prospect Park. I’ve seen some reeeeally good shows over the years incl Yo La Tengo, Alvvays, Broken Social Scene, Nilufer Yanya, & more ! I will also give you a smile for free any season of the year :)

broadway lotteries. shakespeare in the park. random off-broadway shit like the Elevator Repair Service or drunk shakespeare. improv and sketch. walking by a comedy club (*not* in times square) and you just wander in and see some c-tier comedian performing. most of that is in manhattan, but you can definitely find improv and sketch and other stuff local to brooklyn.

Quintessential NYC spring day; sit on a bench in the park, listen to jazz, people watch everyone taking photos of the tulips, cherry blossoms and trees in bloom, enjoying the day. i always try to tip the bands bc they add so much to the atmosphere!!!

💯 echo the north woods of CP, Riverside, and Inwood- and also being near the water during summer mornings and evenings, whether that’s the lawns at Chelsea Piers or the south section of Domino Park; and then, both the Bronx and BK botanic gardens consistently re-charge me during the winter/spring flux time (especially given how huge the BX grounds are). Obvi paying to go isn’t ideal, but both have some good discounted or pay what you want options for NYers that are worth looking into! 🌳

as we all (pi fyi users) know, being into shit is cool. i’ve been thinking about how in the early days of facebook rather than liking pages you would “become a fan” of them and i just love that verbage. so sweet and precious

it’s nice to have a forced walk in the morning before work and it’s not really of shame if you’re in love
