broadway lotteries. shakespeare in the park. random off-broadway shit like the Elevator Repair Service or drunk shakespeare. improv and sketch. walking by a comedy club (*not* in times square) and you just wander in and see some c-tier comedian performing. most of that is in manhattan, but you can definitely find improv and sketch and other stuff local to brooklyn.

it's spring. there are some good parks in brooklyn. walk over, get some fresh air, find some cafe, get a bite on your way back, or maybe pick up like one ingredient to make dinner with, something like that. if you wander by some bowling alley or arcade or karaoke club, pop in. Personally, my goal there would be to have a fun time with strangers, but you could just do your own thing. if you're in manhattan, go up to the bar on the roof of some hotel, don't even bother getting a drink, just appreciate their view. or get a drink, they're expensive but often tasty. wander. the city is dense and walkable.

- Noguchi Museum in Queens - See live music (lots of options all over, depending on what you like) or a comedy show at the Bell House or Union Hall - Brooklyn Botanical Garden & Brooklyn Museum & Prospect Park (all close to each other) - Bowling at The Gutter

food-wise: * have pizza, pizza is good. not sbarro's. * have a bagel. The best bagel you can have is a fresh (untoasted) everything bagel with cream cheese (plain, *maybe* scallion) and lox (or some similar salmon product) with red onion and capers. * go to chinatown (or better yet to flushing). wander around until you find a place that you haven't read about online, a place where they barely speak English, order whatever they say is good. if you get soup dumplings: use the chopsticks to put a dumpling in the spoon. poke a hole in it. let the soup and steam vent out a little. then eat the dumpling. It is too hot to eat any other way. parks are good. shopping is fun. if you're not in the mood to spend, just try thrifting or going to a sample sale. stuff that's kind of conventional and kind of touristy but good anyway: * broadway. enter some lotteries, try the tkts booth, see a show. off-broadway shows are good too, but there's something about a big production... you gotta see one. * the holiday markets * ice skating (especially if her bf is in the mood to propose by the big christmas tree, that's a big cliche here) * the bronx zoo, the met, moma, the brooklyn botanical garden, the frick, the intrepid museum, the tenement museum, lots of museums and shit.

I pulled together all the good advice I could on how to get a men's summer wardrobe together cheap. I hope it helps somebody.

I feel like this place isn't about people but about recommendations, right? forget the influencer, forget the individual, just browse and talk about cool shit and whoever says something good, that's good. that's what I liked about reddit, back when I actually liked reddit. I haven't found many people I want to follow, and I'm not really looking.

I've been enjoying new clothes, and experimenting them with fun ways, so much lately that I need to keep reminding myself of this. Not every excursion outside needs to be fresh and new and experimental. If I am going out and I need a warm sweater and I need my sneakers and I already have a fit in mind with those pieces, I can just wear it, I don't need to reinvent the wheel every time.
