i used to ride my bicycle/take public transport all the time, but walking is really good actually! it slows down the wildness of modern life, shows you small things you would otherwise drive past. its all around a good idea if you have time to spare of course. great for calming down, thinking, good for relieving stress, good for meeting new people

I’ve taken a 45 min walk everyday for the past 2 months and it‘s fixed something. Don’t know what the science is. Don‘t really care. Bring a notebook with you. Listen to music or just your surroundings. My favorite thing has been catching 6 seconds of the funniest conversation, you’ll never know the rest of. Just noticing more things that you might overlook in a car, or a train, or on a bike. If you’re stressed, angry, sad, confused etc., a walk might not fix you but it will change something!

If you have a dog, walk them! If not, walk anyway! I have found my whole life that walking is the best way to feed my mind, body, and soul simultaneously… and to see and discover any new city. I travel a lot with my films, and sometimes I clock in 13 miles in a day… On any day at home,  it’s a sacred time, as the sun sets and we walk our dogs. But if I can take care of phone calls, listen to podcasts, do Zooms and catch up with my partner and friends while moving my feet down the street, waving at neighbors and taking in the natural beauty that is waiting to be discovered around every corner - I will choose that any day. Wandering around a city is also our favorite way to experience any city in the world.

it keeps me sane and feeling healthy, i’m a smoker so i like to think that walking at least 10k steps a day is offsetting the damage i’m doing to myself plus it’s just fun! i love exploring new places and feeling the sun/wind/rain etc on my face

i feel like a massive hypocrite writing this, but im gonna be honest.. the past year i've been constantly listening to/watching youtube videos and ig reels in order to fill the silence. just loads and loads of useless information and empty talks. last night i realized that doing so has been keeping me from thinking about stuff, listening to music and in general, being productive. i was filling my head with useless noise so i wouldn't think. it ended up being a comfortable bubble of bullshit that was hard to break out of. today i stopped the video, grabbed my notes of things i want to DO and played some music in the background. felt much better. i might relapse— i have many times, but im tired of being a vertically scrolling thumb (again).

going to the museums in my city, going to events, visiting art schools as a spectator to view their expositions it gives me this.. je ne sais quoi feeling. like, euphoria and inspiration and hope in a weird combined way. thinking about art, talking about art - and by that i mean anything from jewelry to graphic design, paintings, poetry, (short) film and sculptures. just fills me with purpose unlike anything else. im watching my sims be succesful artists and im like.. damn i wanna be that.

in a world of automatic AI translation and a lack of humanity in digital spaces, i find it refreshing to see evidence that text was indeed typed by a human - someone who makes mistakes and that's okay. i was just browsing a localized version of a website and noticed a word misspelled and for once i didn't feel annoyed, but happy
