find out how you feel cared for and loved then start doing it for yourself. I luv pampering myself and new experiences
my fave ways; taking myself to a movie (nitehawk is my fave for movie and food and maybe a lil drink), solo dining at your favorite spots or somewhere you’re dying to try, library dates, cafe dates, spa days (buy a day pass just to sauna and relax), dedicate an evening each week to a ritual just for yourself- this will strengthen feeling comfortable alone, finding new confidence to get out of your head plus you genuinely start missing your independence and how WELL you know yourself- having a weekly mandatory ritual made this sm easier and less awkward

Though some people might find this kind of depressing I actually see it as the opposite. It’s really been a while since I’ve done this but I see it necessary to go on a date with yourself once in a while. Go to a cafe, take a walk without any destination in mind, or you might as well go to the cinema on your own.
More than an act of self love I perceive it as a way to embrace solitude and get to know yourself more; It brings so much inner peace and helps to heal that part of yourself that finds loneliness daunting. There is a beauty in everything and solitude is not the exception.

i've been really into the idea of taking myself on little solo dates and being generally kinder to myself lately, i think i've been happier with myself recently than i have ever been (the joys of growing up, i guess). and the realisation that i have real adult money and free will and can spend it on whatever is fun! i've been going to more concerts and on little trips and i saw that this one comedy duo i've been seeing a lot on social media were doing a live recording of their podcast in glasgow later this month, and i booked a ticket! planning on taking the day to do a little walking tour of the city, check out a doughnut place someone recommended to me, find a cool looking bar and order myself a pretty cocktail and head to the show - just really make a day of it :) i don't know, i guess i've been really leaning into the idea that of all the people in my life, i am the one i'll have to spend the most time with, and i've been learning to have more fun hanging out with myself, and i feel like i'm coming into my own a little which just makes me so happy <3 hang out with yourself more! life is short man

i started going to the cinema by myself last year and its the best thing ever. I dont know why it scared me so much to do things alone, however doing things solo actually made my social anxiety better. I love just hanging out by myself now; going to the cinema; a nature walk; solo study date at a cafe. Doing things alone will heal something in you

I will not listen to instagram nutritionists or 20 year olds who read a handful of studies on Reddit dot com/pudmed. i WILL be listening to the people with years of science and experience
