a great rec and subsequent convo from @JILLY a couple days ago really got me thinking about boundaries in my own life and that there are some major areas where things have broken down for me I can see relationships that are actually at risk of degrading—and maybe have already started to degrade in my heart—because I've failed to define and communicate healthy boundaries As a result of not doing the hard work of stating, counting the cost, and communicating about certain areas, I've both harmed myself and others So I'm recc-ing my future very healthy boundaries, with a lot of hope, and stating the intention to make some changes I'm going to start here: — Read Boundaries by Henry Cloud — Re-read Crucial Conversations — Make a list of boundaries that I need and communicate those to others as appropriate ...and other things that may pop up
Reframing boundaries as a way of holding myself accountable. Not setting boundaries with someone who knowingly may disappoint me. Instead establishing one with myself with the intention to assert my agency. This can also prevent the opportunity for me to potentially shift blame onto someone who is not responsible for my own actions. (Note: this is NOT applicable in every instance. boundaries are important and can be enforced however necessary! this is my own personal reflection)

To plans, to people, to myself. Boundaries. Enforced.

we must redistribute the wealth, especially if it’s generational!! My dear friend lori really got me on this philosophy and she’s not wrong.

Because I’m not wasting my time or energy with a man who’s not showing up at the voting booth for my rights 💅🏻 Economy this…economy that I do not care.
