The vibe at those bookstores was unreal!! Best part was seeing everyone sit on the sidewalk and start reading as soon as they got their copy. My sister and I had to share so we’d take turns reading chapter by chapter 😄

THE HUNGER GAMES

When I really think about it, I owe so much to this series….. Peeta Mellark I know you like an old friend… Cheesy ya ya maybe I’m a Gen Z Potterhead about The Hunger Games but it’s hard for me to really articulate the depth of this series impact on me. Not just content wise, but it was my first real ~obsession~ and that in itself is a special thing for any young girl. Re-reading it as an adult was one of the most joyous experiences in the past few years of my life, and tbh, I’m not short on joyous experiences. Coming back to a really important story for you during formative years AND it being genuinely GOOD is fucking awesome. I have mixed feelings about all this prequel business but I’ll always ride for the original trilogy Katniss and Peeta are literally old friends of mine

dunno how old i was and it obviously wasn’t the first time i’d read but i believe my brain turned on to make a memory of gleefully poring over a kid fantasy for a reason— stories opened the world for me even as a little’un

vacationing in off season

You stuck in JFK with a bunch of other bozos who spent double on their tickets. you’re all squished together headed on uncomfortable flights to see your family fight at the dinner table during the holidays. Pffft. Instead. Stay home for the holidays and tell your family you’ll be visiting in January when the flights are nearly empty and the ticket prices are criminally cheap. Been doing this a couple of years now and it’s really the tits.

Any public Library Social Media Accounts 📚📱

You see the same trend being utilized everywhere but the only people who get it right are (yes, you guessed it) Librarians. You didn’t know you needed it until, oops, you stumbled upon the Milwaukee Public Library tik tok and they are roasting and also paying a beautiful homage the Twilight novels to the tune of Billie Eilish’s melodical ballad “What Was I Made For” or something like that. They deep down know your secrets and deepest fantasies and post them on a 10 second video. The videos swing and NEVER MISS! You’re thinking “wait how’s that possible?” If they know how to read a book, they certainly know how to READ YOU! After they have pinpointed your soul, what do they do? They give you excellent content that makes you think, “Damn better book my next trip to Milwaukee Public Library and Thank them for their service,” 🫡because Librarians are by the people, for the people!
