Written and directed by Justine Triet. A fascinating look into how we develop relationships with each other and how far we can let those relationships seep into our own inspirations and work. Hints of Bergman’s “Persona” and stand out performances from Sandra Hüller and Adele Exarchopoulos really just serve as the cherry on top of an incredibly fun movie

A friend recommended I watch this film after I gave him an in-depth explanation of my sexual dysfunction(s). It’s directed by Michael Haneke, known best for both the German and U.S. versions of “Funny Games”, so you already know it's fun for the whole family. I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. I fear it has possessed me. If you’ve seen it, you know more about me than I would willingly divulge even after years of friendship. I almost dressed as the protagonist for Halloween this year. In turn, I’ve become obsessed with Isabelle and she’s now one of my top five favorite actresses. Her poise and courage on screen is unmatched, not to mention raw sex appeal. She really is Mother/Maman.

Recently rewatched this movie and fell in love with it all over again. It's a slow paced movie by the director Chantal Akerman that. The movie follows Michèle, the protagonist, through her day and like the title says, paints a picture of a young girl at the end of the 60s in Brussels. I guess my takeaway from the movie is that love can present itself in different forms and there are no right or wrong ways in going about that and exploring the different ways to love. This movie leaves me with a deep love for life, even though I'm not quite sure wether that's what the film is trying to provoke or if it's just because every time I hear the song Suzanne by Leonard Cohen I'm high on it for days, which kind of leads me to my last remark: The use of music in this movie is absolutely fantastic and feels like a delicately placed punch in the stomach. It's on youtube for free (see the link) and only an hour long! P.S.: This is my first post, I don't even know if this is the right way to use this website???

like actually going out and trying things. put in an effort and take pride in that (being effortless is soooo out for 2024). use this platform to find new amazing things! you can never really know what you like and what brings you joy and fulfillment and all that cheesy stuff unless you actually go and really try a bunch of stuff. I love trying!
