he’s a legend for a reason. he died last year and i made a playlist of all my fav tunes of his. 100% instrumental - his melodies are so rich he doesn’t need to sing. “definitely maybe“ could be one of my fav songs ever - it’s like 7 layers of slide guitar that are so pretty you’ll cry - also this vid from the 70s is nuts
And if you go back as far as his work with the Yardbirds (Over Under Sideways Down is a good place to start), you work out that he basically invented fuzz guitar, (before the Stones) Eastern-sounding motifs in pop music (before the Beatles), and taught Jimmy Page everything he needed to know to start Led Zeppelin. Oh, and Eddie Van Halen was clearly listening to him as well -- all of the guitar-heroics hammer-on stuff and trem bar "dive bombs" came from the mid 70s Blow by Blow era. And Aerosmith wouldn't exist without Beck, Joe Perry has basically said as much, ha.

pro tip, dreams don’t always make sense - so when weird/bad stuff happens, you can shrug it off and be like wow what a weird dream bro 🤷
