I usually have headphones on all the time but recently I started doing my morning routine and walking outside without them, and it’s so peaceful. Sometimes your nervous system just needs nothing at all lol.

More and more I am totally at peace working in my apartment without something playing in the background or in my headphones. Sometimes I won't even notice that I didn't put something until I hear something outside. OnlyThoughts.

Been trying to do stints, timed spurts, of total silence throughout my work days. It’s a constant back and forth, music or silence. But I tend to feel calmer, better about myself somehow, after I manage to be silent awhile.

Going on a walk without listening to music and better yet without my phone washes my brain clean. it’s a sort of version of meditation to me. I can’t meditate for more than 3 minutes but I can do this for an hour. It makes me feel like a real person amongst other people. I also tend to remember I’m a whole body with arms and legs and not just a brain. it gives me time for my brain to go empty or to think about something I didn’t realize I was trying to ignore.

This is when you roll out of bed on a WFH day or weekend and metaphorically crawl through your morning/afternoon. You dont wash your face. You don’t brush your teeth. You keep your bonnet on. You put on a tshirt or a robe and maybe make coffee. Then you get on your laptop and are surprisingly really productive! Then when you have enough energy you do all the other things you’re supposed to do (your usual morning routine). Essentially, you’re a glob during this time. CAUTION: This is only healthy if you do it once in a while. Not every morning should be a glob morning, even though it feels so good.

You don’t need to buy every book you read! Go to the library, download an ebook, find a PDF, create a personal JSTOR account. You’ll be surprised how much out there is free for the taking :)
