Investing in a good shampoo and conditioner is key when you have bleach blonde hair in recovery from blasting it with one of those round brush blow dryers the kids on TikTok like to make fun of. I donā€™t really believe in sustainable consumer goods but this Davines shit is amazing and it comes in ā€œbiodegradableā€ packaging that you can throw in the garbage instead of pretending to recycle it.

Iā€™m not even super blonde so I shouldn't be using this, but I got a huge free sample of shampoo and conditioner from this line during a sale last week. I know this brand is super expensive so Iā€™m sorry to even be recommending this butā€¦itā€™s so good you guys šŸ˜«

I always turn to VO5 shampoo or the green Suave bottle. Sometimes you need your head to be fresh and clean and this is what shampoo is for. But I donā€™t really understand paying large amounts of money to degrease my hair. VO5 is a good way to fly under the radar and it provides really consistent results. Every time I use a shampoo thatā€™s weird or nice I never know what Iā€™m going to look like when I wake up. I specifically enjoy the strawberries and cream flavor of VO5, I like seeing the picture of the strawberry on the bottle and I like the Pepto Bismol color. Iā€™m remembering now too that this is what my dad and grandfather both used to buy for me and I think thatā€™s cute.

But Iā€™ve been washing my hair like daily or every other day with a color safe shampoo and conditioner instead of trying to extend time between washes. I tried everything but I feel like thatā€™s just hateful guidance for me because i have fine hair but itā€™s incredibly dense and I have a LOT of it. Iā€™m constantly bleaching and coloring it because Iā€™m a hair model and I havenā€™t gotten in trouble with my stylist so i think itā€™s going wellā€¦. unfortunately canā€™t say the same about my hot styling brush usage he said those are canceled šŸ˜– RIP because I still donā€™t know how to use a round brush to this day

Itā€™s spring and the ultra-short skirt/crop top trend is about to pop off. But before you take your kitchen scissors to your wife beaters Julia Fox-style cop a pair of Gingher shears. Theyā€™re heavy and sexy and silver and used by people who actually know how to make clothes. Iā€™ve been ā€œcustomizingā€ my wardrobe for years but itā€™s only recently that my raw hem skirts and sweaters arenā€™t totally jagged and wonky. Itā€™s called maturity, girls.

I have a full time job and live in Manhattan so thrifting isnā€™t an option for me, which is sad because I think the best-dressed people buy the majority of their clothes from thrift stores. Thankfully thereā€™s Poshmark, a place where you can peruse the closets of Floridian housewives and Las Vegas showgirls from the bathtub. Pro tip: online shopping is a brain massage made better accompanied by bad TV. I recommend pairing low ball offers with the latest season of 90 Day Fiance, or Gossip Girl reruns (the original series, not the new one)ā€”if youā€™d like to feel especially numb.

I like to think of it as a vacation day. Just because youā€™re not lounging somewhere tropical doesnā€™t mean you canā€™t experience the joys of devouring a juicy beach read at home. Put on your best sweatpants, prepare your french press (lately iā€™ve been using espresso beans from Grumpy), and grab a book you can finish in one sitting. I recently read Other Peopleā€™s Clothes by Calla Henkel, but any murder mystery or celebrity memoir would do.
