I can’t believe he hasn’t released anything but a few scattered singles since 2016 but maybe it was so exquisitely captured, so zeitgeist-setting, so emotionally fine tuned, so FUCKING PERFECT IN EVERY WAY that he just hasn’t been able to top it since then and hasn’t really tried.
We miss you out here Lonny Breaux from the LBC. But we’ll always have this gem to get high and cry to.

🎵Glad I came across this song earlier this Summer. Frank Ocean has always been effortless with his pen and even his throwaway tracks speak mountains. This is one has kept my headphones in my pockets and a nice little 2 minute song to sit with.

I’ve come back to this one over and over and over. It’s just Frank at his greatest, back when he’d actually make music (RIP). I feel like I have super specific memories associated with some of these songs and every time it plays I remember where I was, what I was doing and what I was feeling. Love you Frank, miss you

my best friend since 4th grade and i just took a trip to san diego. we met some people at music festival and we all talked over the weekend and got along and got to know each other. i learned that im an indirect person. i thought about how many times someone asked me if i wanted something and i said “either way” or “whatever is easiest” — so many of those times i had a yes/no answer that i held back. And for what? you can’t get what you want if you always leave it up to others to decipher what that is or to decide for you. im working on being more honest with myself and the people around me, and of course still trying to be thoughtful and considerate in the process
