hooked me immediately with it's depiction of toxic teen girl friendship (as a survivor of many toxic teen girl friendships) but The Bee Sting is a family epic - I'm about a quarter of the way in, and it's so gripping to me. Like a slow motion car crash but in a good way? Feels like an accurate but not clichƩ portrayal of modern life and a really detailed portrait of a family in crisis

I’m about a third of the way into this book about a dystopian Ireland, and it is gripping. It’s not ā€œaction packedā€ and yet every moment has me on edge. To call it ā€œa book for our timesā€ isn’t doing it justice.

it’s about a horny, history obsessed, irreverent bisexual skater in suburban Iowa who accidentally unleashes an apocalypse of gigantic, lab grown, parasitic grasshoppers with his best friend who he is in love with. i have read it at least 4 times.

Listen to Michael Bluth, breakfast really is the most important thing next to family. For some reason I didn’t eat breakfast for the first half of my life and I’m pretty sure that’s why I had a five second attention span growing up. Pair breakfast with a stretch and you’ll probably have a pretty good day. Couldn’t recommend it more.
