hooked me immediately with it's depiction of toxic teen girl friendship (as a survivor of many toxic teen girl friendships) but The Bee Sting is a family epic - I'm about a quarter of the way in, and it's so gripping to me. Like a slow motion car crash but in a good way? Feels like an accurate but not cliché portrayal of modern life and a really detailed portrait of a family in crisis

An insane and unhinged take on the classic cross-country runaway story — the protagonists are more antiheroes than heroes, but you root for them all the way until the last page. The plot is refreshing, the journey you take with Teal and Cody is a blast, and the writing is exceptional. I loved the seemless transition of perspectives, often mid-chapter or even mid-sentence, as well as dream-like explorations of characters who weren’t actually with the leads. Teenager is one of the few books I’ve read that I consider a must read.

A novel about a young man growing up during the Thatcher era in England, all while openly gay & forming relationships, often precarious or illicit, with London’s high society. Beautifully (beautifullyyyy) written, witty, and often times just straight up horny. It’s taking me a second to get back into it but I’m over halfway through and curious as to where it’s gonna go …….lots of people said they cried finishing it so I’m scared 😟

i read this first the summer between highschool and college and it changed something for me. it's made up of little snippets into the lives of people, sometimes not all the loose ends were tied up but it felt real. it was reflective and I've passed it along to my younger cousins as they navigate the worlds of dating and sex and others perceptions of their personal lives. the reviews are absolutely polarizing but if you're willing to read that doesnt directly tell you how to feel but makes you linger with the emotions that come up this one might be for you
