not really a recommendation, but my friend who was in culinary class in all 4 years of high school recommends that for cake mix you:
- use milk instead of water
- use melted butter instead of oil and double the amount that would’ve been oil*
- add an extra egg
* don’t mix hot melted butter with the eggs or it will cook them lolz
