a stream, a lake, an ocean, a pond. I’m almost sure we can all find a little natural (or unnatural idk a pool?) body of water. listen to the bends, really feel the air, inhale the moisture, and just sit with your toes and feet in the water for a second. you’ll feel pretty good. Ironically enough, water is my #1 grounding routine! 🐟

whenever im feeling more lost than usual, in myself or the world, something that really helps me find my center again is just going to the water by myself.  she will always be there for you whether that is through river, pond, fountain, or sea. you will quickly find she wants to take all your troubles away.  try to just sit there with the water and nothing else as best you can, don’t go on your phone, don’t read a book, if you really really need to do something, listen to an album and don’t skip anything or bring a sketchbook to doodle in. just try your very best to be in the moment and nowhere else. if you are at the beach (my favorite place to be with the water) try to keep your eyes on the horizon where the sky meets the ocean. or for any location just look at the patterns on the surface and notice how light dances across it. let the water be a fidget toy for your eyes. there likely will not be any huge aha moment but i promise if you really intentionally spend time with the water, talk to it even, you will leave feeling different in some way. (here is a little collage from my last solo beach day. the most important part is that you do all this by yourself. have a one on one with the water and she will tell you what to do next)

this isn’t an exaggeration. get out in the sun. take your shoes off and dig your toes in the dirt. lay in the grass and whatever you do, do not think. gratitude. peace. solitude. let those three things ring in the emptiness of your mind. PRAY/ listen/ breathe. a lot of this is contradictory, but it’s real. all of these things are real.

I always go on a day long outdoor excursion in a natural or semi natural area (city parks work as long as theyre big enough) ocean or lake is ideal due to outside water's cleansing properties. Laying down on the ground (sleeping, even) and looking at things that are far away are also important, as well as having lunch at a cafe or something with no time limit on how long you take to eat 🪲 dont come home until youre feeling sleepy (not just tired)

my heart was shattered the other day. but lowkey I am picking myself up and am grateful to be reminded that I am capable of love and the full spectrum of human emotion. this is what life is about. id rather a lifetime of cries and resilience than a moment of numbness. if anyone has any advice on how to honor myself as I try to get over them, please let me know. <4

okay so my name is Payton. I named my two cats (bonded, same litter, white and black domestic shorthair strays) Pablo and Priscilla. Priscilla gave me dainty elegant old woman vibes even as a kitten, and Pablo is rambunctious and awesome. I feel like the two names suit them very well--- also the whole P theme to match their mom heheheh. what does the cat look like if yk? or do yk her personality yet? I think a food name is always fun or something rlly niche like a favorite character, person, or musician. u can go silly mode w it like something like pebbles or kimchi. or like blitzkrieg or penicillin. idk maybe more serious and reaction-causing for the ppl lol

makes me think of Scott street by Phoebe bridgers. but my preference is a sip or two of the beer pre shower. then finish post shower. bread and yeast in liquid form feels strange while taking a shower w soap
