Disney Channel was at its peak, I couldn’t wait to grow up and have a husband. I discovered the internet and fell in love with it — and then came my first experiences with grooming. Summer was gentle and full of life; I went rollerblading every day. Christmas had that distinct smell of tinsel you hang on Christmas trees — a very specific kind of plastic — and once, it snowed so hard the schoolyard was completely covered. We built a maze in the snow, and the walls were taller than us. I had a portable CD player that was basically my best friend, I had beautiful dresses that I loved like I love my best friends, I dreamed of being a Totally Spy, and I quoted SpongeBob way too often
