i just made my pi.fyi account yesterday and i’m so warmed by how eager everyone is to chat with strangers to engage in sharing their little positive moments with one another. i finally get why everyone yearns for the myspace era
hell yes!!! we are humans! Unlike the other social platforms run by meta which are controlled by robots with no emotionnnnnnnnzzzzzzzzzzz

right?! I haven’t felt like social media has been engaging like this in a while, especially with ads, algorithms and just clout. it’s nice to know there are other humans just out there and interacting without any pressure:)
I'm also pretty new, but from what i've gathered it's basically an ad-free, algorithm-free way to connect with other people. Sharing things you like, asking questions and recommending things. A way to share a more real version of yourself than you are able to do on other platforms.
i‘ve been feeling really nostalgic and missing the “old internet“ and making internet friends lately as well. i feel like pi.fyi is the closest i have gotten to that feeling again! i don’t feel afraid to comment on people’s posts and start conversations about common interest.
I feel like pi.fyi (and its community) really fosters that kind of thing, which makes me believe it’s totally possible again 🙂↕️ (can you tell i like it here)
tried this cake for the first time after making it for my bf’s birthday and it’s awesome. apparently a colombian staple that‘s pretty much a tres leches cake w chocolate shavings and cherries on top. sopping wet with condensed milk and cream. delightful (note: there is not one english recipe for it online so if u are not hispanophone and want to replicate it u will need to use google translate very carefully or phone a friend)
i had hopped on the vinyl bandwagon when they had their renaissance in the 2010s but i’ve converted since you can still find good CDs at the thrift for a dollar or two a pop and they take up way less space on the shelf. also still car compatible if u have an older one!
i have no idea why milk isn't a valid flavor for treats like it is in china (see white rabbit candy). we always treat it like a neutral base ingredient to impose other flavors upon but it's totally a flavor all on its own! i've been drizzling it over my waffles and cereal and ice cream instead of maple syrup and nobody can stop me
