Just a few weeks ago me and my IRL’s really close internet friend flew across the country to hang out with us! The internet can feel so hostile when you’re scrolling through something like Twitter but online communities absolutely exist, whether through Discord or video games or various forums, and I’ve formed so many very real connections through the internet 🔥🔥🔥 You just need to seek them out!

waking up and immediately talking to one of your best friends on the phone for ONe (1) hour

since moving to a brand new city for grad school, all my best homies are long-distance and phone calls/facetime have got me through this past year. the first thing I did when I woke up today was ring my friend for a call we had planned, and it really started off my day CORRECT. what a blessing it is to have people on this earth to share the minute details of life with <3

I have had internet friends since pretty much forever and still keep in touch with people I met on tumblr and early instagram. I love being like, ”oh yeah my internet friend“ it makes me feel tapped in to another portal of life. And it’s soooo fun when you get a serendipitous opportunity to meet in person

they make my friends more beautiful (if that’s even possible).
they slow down my life, to sit in the syrupy warmth of a sunset while I think or eat or drink or chat
