can we come up with a new way to say something was wholly unexpected/beyond the imagination? iāve listed my reasons below:
1. you can basically say this phrase about anything to the point that itās no longer funny or relatable. itās rather stale and no longer invokes the feelings of surprise or shock ā itās as tacit as saying āoh thatās randomā.
2. re:staleā we* have been saying this for 5+ years**, which is basically 400 years internet-wise. we need smth new.
3. unless you actually made a bingo card for the year, idt this phrase should be uttered. if you did make a bingo card, love that for you, and iād like to see it.
4. itās just annoying to me idk. it gives millennial ābut first, coffeeā vibes.
i donāt have a replacement suggestionā iām just complaining. pls comment alternative ideas for this phrase if u have any.

š«weāre watching soaps together (young and the restless, bold and the beautiful). she and her mom used to watch the same shows together when she was younger. itās a happy memory for her. whenever iām at work, mom texts me updates from the show. itās a very sweet ritual weāve just started. itās fun to watch her reminisce about old storylines and explain who everyone is to me. weāve started a new soap together called beyond the gates. even more special to begin the show with her. a new tradition built upon an old one. i look at my mom as a treasure of information of which iāll never reach the bottom. sheās getting older, and i keep thinking about how one day, iāll wish iād been nicer, or more open, or taken out my headphones to listen to her talk just to talk. on days when those thoughts are overwhelming, i settle for spending time with her in the calm afternoon of her lunch break and listening to her talk about phyllis and victor and jill and cricket. sometimes, she talks over the show, but tbh iām more interested in what she has to say than the storylines.
