Maya deren

Truly my avant-garde film goat. I recommend all her films. But if you were to only watch two short ones I would suggest “Meshes of the Afternoon” and “At Land”. Overall her body of work and her story is worth looking into.

LIGHTING A CANDLE WITH A MATCH

I recently acquired a book of matches from my parents’ wedding and have been using it to light my bedtime candle. there’s just something so satisfying about hitting just the right angle on the book to strike it and smelling that smoke!
