There may be a compelling argument to be made that jazz is correctly rated because being into it seems to automatically make a person insufferable (this is a self-drag ok). But I love that jazz today seems to be as experimental and radical and challenging as when it was first pioneered. It is Americaโ€™s most American genre of music, among its greatest contributions to global culture, and a monument to American vision and talent. Happy 4th to yโ€™all and thank you for inventing jazz!

The first two lines of the chorus: 'You can never be strong, You can only be free' Sums up everything great about Robert Pollard's songwriting. Drama, hope and disappointment.

I'm amazed no one else has mentioned the great Townes Van Zandt. This is my favourite of his, a beautiful voice and songwriter gone far too soon.

Same as anyone else. I think the 'male loneliness epidemic' is nearly 100% self inflicted. However, most men don't know how to find meaning, hence why they get into stupid shit for a sense of purpose.
