Latelt ive been obsessed with smerz's latest release, ive been replaying a thousand lies over and over. ive been attracted to songs about monotony and risk vs reward(roll the dice) lately. But i also yearn to break free from it, i think that itch is being scratched by f5ves album sequence 01. underground being about escaping from work and lettuce being about having a health nut boyfriend thats a dick Lol. I havent posted on here for a while, does anyone know who I should be listening to next?

🎶This brand new album’s been on repeat since it came out on Friday. dltzk is a 17 year old prodigy, one of the rising stars of the “”””hyperpop””””-associated scene who I feel lucky enough to have been able to hear the rapid development of in real time.. at this point I’ve accepted that this next generation of online musicians are already light years ahead of me but this album is definitely special. It’s euphoric, it’s punk, it’s playful, and its full of the types of production gimmicks I’d usually find distracting but here they’re executed so intentionally and tastefully, a lot of the songs feel like they include remixes of themselves.

Been revisiting this album after their new album "LL" came out - Such a refreshing blend of constructively applied electroclash inspiration and an inspiring look towards a return to rock in an increasingly pop-saturated industry. One of the few acts to break out recently that has felt worthwhile to follow and unashamedly advocating for their vision, even if it comes with the braggadocious frills of your typical sleazebag rockers.

the music coming out of copenhagen (and scandinavia in general) is the perfect sonic encapsulation of the cultural zeitgeist rn imo. this song and the album it’s on just hit the spot in translating the dissonance between aspiration and reality of being young in a big city.
