hii!⭐️ these are the books i'm currently reading: - crime and punishment (fyodor dostoevsky) - less is more: how degrowth will save the world (jason hickel) - history (elsa morante) - the copenhagen trilogy: childhood, youth, dependency (tove ditlevsen) - beloved (toni morrison) - pedagogy of the oppressed (paulo freire) i like reading multiple books at a time depending on how i feel, but when i'm about to finish one i usually focus on it until the end. up next: - intermezzo (sally rooney) - the seven moons of maali almeida (shehan karunatilaka) - an autobiography (angela y. davis) - the light years (elizabeth jane howard) - the forbidden notebook (alba de céspedes)

a24 zine, next to heaven (botm), and the long road, the chronology of water, and die, my love (the strand) i love the strand. like love love love the strand. it's become my spot to kill time when waiting for friends or my husband. i also love just browsing books on the weekends. i rarely come out with nothing, always a book or multiple books. i kinda went overboard this time but when the books call, i come! i still browse barnes and noble union square but the strand is just so much cooler. also the virgin suicides was a present from my husband! crazy crazy. teenage me would love i never let go of those girls. what are you reading rn????

I can be somewhat flighty with my books (reading based on mood) so usually have an extensive currently-reading pile which I’ll work to finish slowly until they’re due at the library: Sag harbor, colson whitehead Indelicacy, Amina Cain Bad blood, John carreyrou The other Americans, laila lalami Fear of flying, Erica jong Travelers to unimaginable lands, dasha kiper Once I’ve worked through those, id like to read: james, percival Everett The premonition, banana yoshimoto What are you going through, sigrid nunez

i'm glad i chose history of african american music as one of my courses, it would've been quite hard for me to really understand the film otherwise. still learned a lot from it though!
